Change is in the air, Capricorn. But you’ve gotta let go if you truly want to grow. The Sun winds down its final days in Sagittarius and your twelfth house of transitions. On Sunday, your birthday time officially begins when el sol moves on to Capricorn until January 20. With this countdown underway what do you want to release before your next year of life begins? This could span the range from outmoded possessions to limiting beliefs to relationships that could easily be categorized as unfulfilling, if not outright toxic. You’re a tenacious one though, Cap, and your “never say die!” attitude can be both a blessing and a curse. Sometimes you get stuck in unrewarding situations because you’re trying and trying AND TRYING to solve the problem and win.  

If you’ve been hanging on past the expiration date, Monday could be major. A provocative square (90 degree angle) between Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in your emotional fourth house could put an end to your role as the sacrificial martyr. An eruption with someone from your personal life (likely a woman) or even a colleague you deal with on a daily basis could boil like hot lava. While you are justifiably upset, vent to a neutral third party first. It takes two to tango. You played a role in training people to be overly reliant on you — so now you must gently introduce them to the new, assertive you. Feeling boxed in? Something about your living situation may need to change so that you have some damn privacy. What will become obvious, Capricorn is that you need more space for yourself. People might take it personally at first, but nurturing your own needs will make you much more enjoyable to be around.

On Tuesday, messenger Mercury moves into Capricorn until January 6 sharpening your ability to speak up for yourself. You’ll have a way with words, which might be best used for recording a podcast, writing a chapter of your memoir, or even delivering a presentation that seals a prosperous business deal. Your leadership qualities shine through. Don’t be surprised if you’re tapped for a raise and promotion before 2015.
